Vision Therapy

What Is Vision Therapy?

Vision therapy is an individualized treatment plan prescribed by an Optometrist to treat and improve various binocular vision conditions including amblyopia (“lazy eye”), strabismus (“crossed or misaligned eyes”), accommodative disorders (difficulty focusing) and many more. This plan is designed to aid individuals of all ages in learning and reinforcing visual skills necessary for single, clear and comfortable vision.

Vision therapy uses an evidence based approach to treat conditions that cannot be treated with eyeglasses or contacts alone. Double vision, blurry vision, inconsistent vision and more may be relieved through an individualized vision therapy program.

Clear and comfortable vision plays an important role in children development and education. Children having difficulties reading, focusing and excelling in the classroom should have a comprehensive eye examination to determine if vision therapy may improve these barriers to learning as 20/20 vision may not be enough.
