Eye Examinations
Optometrists use a wide variety of tests and procedures to examine your eyes. These tests range from simple ones, like having you read an eye chart, to complex tests, such as using a high-powered lens to visualize the tiny structures inside your eyes.
Optometrists will determine if you require glasses or contact lenses to correct your vision. At times, the Optometrist may determine if vision therapy is required to correct double vision, focusing issues, a "lazy eye", or eye co-ordination issues.
Optometrists are able to examine and diagnose eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, retinal diseases, and various eye infections and anomalies, as well as diagnose related systemic (full body) conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, and hypertension.
